Joe Hubert Robison - Age 87 - Albertville, AL (Formerly of Winfield)
JOE HUBERT ROBISON, lovingly known as "Preach" age 87, of Albertville,
died Monday, January 1, 2007 at his residence.
Preach was born in Heflin, AL January 10, 1919 to the late Hubert Scott Robison
and Emma Raye Lightsey Robison. He attended Snead College and
Emory University. He was employed by Southern Railway as a fireman and engineer
for 12 years. He entered the ministry in 1948 when he and his
wife Margaret "Mrs. Preach" served as counselors for the Birmingham
Sub-Districts. His first appointment was in 1951 in Albertville. He served
Mt. High, Corbinville, and Nixon Chapel Circuit; St. James Methodist Church in
Florence, Carbon Hill Methodist, Beverly Methodist, Rock
Methodist, Winfield and Pisgah United Methodist; and retired from St. Andrews
Methodist. However, after retirement he served Fairview Methodist in
Albertville for 15 years, and continued to serve Oak Hill and Oak Grove. Preach
was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.
Preach is survived by his wife, Margaret "Mrs. Preach" Robison of Albertville;
two daughters, Jo Ann (Mark) Washington of Jacksonville, AL and
Marie (Larry) Henson of Guntersville; three grandsons, Scott (Carolyn) Rains of
Albertville, Joe Mark (Susan) Washington of Pine Beach, NJ,
and Nick (Cindy) Henson of Albertville; and two great grandchildren, Casey and
Colin Rains.
There will be a funeral service held Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 2:00 PM from
the Miles Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 12:00 until
2:00 p.m. just prior to services. The celebration of Preach's life will be held
Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the Fairview
Methodist Church in the Hustleville Community of Albertville. The family will
receive friends at the church beginning at 12:00 PM Wednesday.

Randal Rufus Knight, 79 of Hamilton, Alabama died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Sunset Manor.
He was born in Marion County, Alabama on January 14, 1927 to Luther M. and Mary Elizabeth (Cooper) Knight. Mr. Knight was a well-known businessman around Hamilton, having had a Furniture Store and a Car Lot in Hamilton.
Visitation was held at the First Baptist Church in Hamilton on January 3, 2007 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. with Funeral Services following at 4:00 p.m. at the Church. Bro. Eddie Davidson and Bro. Keith Gann officiated. Burial was in Barnesville Cemetery, Hamilton, AL.

Brenda Sue Meigs, 57, passed away in the early morning of Monday, January
1, 2007 at her home in Vinemont, Alabama near Cullman.
She was born on July 9, 1949 in Blountsville, Alabama to Clarence and Willie
Barbee.
Visitation was held on Wednesday from 4 - 9 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in
Addison, Alabama.
Funeral Services were held on Thursday, January 4, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Sardis
Baptist Church. Pastor Perry Knight officiated. Visitation
was from 9 - 10 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial was in the
adjoining cemetery of Sardis Baptist Church.
She is survived by her Husband, Denzil Thurman Meigs; her Son, Larry DeWayne
Payne; Daughters, Pamela Sue (Terry) Freeman and Brenda (Duke)

Ora Mae Smith, 87, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at the North Mississippi
Medical Center in Tupelo.
A native and lifelong resident of Guin, Ala., she was the daughter of the late
Jethro Louis and Dilma Catherine Gann Weaver. She was a member of
the New Hope Church of Christ.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2007, at New Hope Church of
Christ with Thomas Smith officiating. Burial will be in West Alabama
Memorial Gardens. Norwood Funeral Home of Guin, Ala., is in charge of the

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Reese (J.C.) of Smithville and Diane

Paul S. Crump, Jr.,52, of Sulligent, AL died Friday, January 5, 2007 in
the North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton, Alabama.
Born in Amory, Mississippi, he is the Son of Doris Manning Crump Stanford and
the late Paul Stone Crump, Sr. He had lived in the Sulligent
area most of his life. He attended the Cedar Grove Baptist Church, was a member
of the River Road Hunting Club and was the owner of Crump
Timber Company and was a Real Estate developer.
He is survived by his Wife, Becky Strawbridge Crump of Sulligent, AL, A
Daughter, Christy (Bruce) Hallman of Northport, AL, Mother, Doris
Manning Stanford of Sulligent, AL, Two Step Sisters, Jeanie Perkins and Becky
Tucker both of Vernon, AL.

Mrs. Bareis was preceded in death by her father, Travis Jack Hodge, Sr.; her
adoptive father, Ernest Marshall Burrell; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Edwards and Mr. and Mrs. Clovis Edwards, and her grandfather, Ernest Burrell.

Mrs. Bareis is survived by her husband, John Bareis; her mother, Linda Gail

Mrs. Hill was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a member of Rockwood
Baptist Church. She was retired from the Foster Grandparent Program. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Rushia Pounders; a son, Grover
Hill, Jr.; and eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2007, at Pinkard
Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James McCullar officiating. Interment was in
Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Frog Pond Community.
Mrs. Hill is survived by a son, Glen Hill of Russellville; a daughter, Betty
Sparks and husband Oneal, of Russellville; a step-son, Billy G. Hill and wife

Peggy Tubbs Crump, 64, of Nauvoo died Sunday, Jan 7, 2007 at her
residence.

Ms. Crump is preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Ethel Tubbs. Crump along
with her husband Charles Crump, a retired minister, worked side by side for over
37 years serving the Lord doing ministry and missionary work in the United
States and South America. She wrote many articles that were published in the
“Words of Truth and The Word Evangelist.” Peggy enjoyed teaching hundreds of
adult and children’s Sunday School Classes and seeing the delight of an adult or
child that learned about the Lord. Crump never passed up the opportunity to have
a bible study with others. She enjoyed embroidery and making gifts to give to
others.
Crump’s family would like to thank the staff of the Winston County Home Health
and special care-giver Miss Bee “Evelyn Morris” for all the special love and
care over the years of her service.
She is survived by her husband Charles Crump of Nauvoo; sons, Jeris Crump and

Donnie Mae Burks Ausborn, 81, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at
Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory after a brief illness. She was
born Aug. 21, 1925, in Beaverton, Ala., to the late Shird and Lizzie Jane Pugh
Burks. She had been a resident of Amory since 1958. She was a homemaker and a
member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ. She enjoyed arts and crafts. She
married James Coy Ausborn on July 28, 1945, in Monroe County. He preceded her in
death in 2001.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2007, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Mural
Worthey officiating.
Visitation will continue today until service time. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Monroe County.
Survivors include one brother, Shird Burks Jr. of Baxter, Tenn.; several nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Fred

Leonard O'Neal Allen, Jr. - Age 83 - Marietta, GA (Formerly of Russellville, AL)
Leonard O'Neal Allen, Jr., age 83, of Marietta, Georgia (Formerly of
Russellville, Alabama) passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2007, from complications
of pancreatic cancer.
Previously a native of Franklin County and a longtime resident of Russellville,
he was residing in Marietta, GA at the time of his death. He proudly served his
country in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a recipient
of the Purple Heart. Following the war, he worked as a civilian employee for the
U.S. Air Force. Upon returning to Franklin County he served as Veteran's Service
Officer from 1953-1960. He held the office of Tax Assessor for 18 years and
served as Mayor of the city of Russellville from 1980-84. One of his proudest
accomplishments as mayor was the restoration of the Sloss Lake Park. He was
instrumental in the Bear Creek Watershed and worked on many projects that
benefited the local area. He was a lifelong Democrat and was proud to have had
many Republican friends. He was honored to serve as the co-chairman to reelect
Howell Heflin to the U.S. Senate and remained a lifelong friend.
He was president of Leonard Allen Acres and vice president of Franklin Real
Estate and Insurance. His civic affiliations included Secretary of the
Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Association, Commander of the Russellville American
Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, President of the Lions Club, and Director
of the Russellville Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Red Cross Association
and the Heart Fund.
Following retirement, he traveled the world extensively as a host on Royall
Cruise Line, meeting many interesting people and seeing many beautiful sights.
He also continued his lifelong hobby of restoring classic cars.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Lynn Botts and Dr. Michael Botts, of
Madison, AL; his son, Leonard O'Neal Allen III of Atlanta, GA; his former wife
and the mother of his children, Nola Pritchard Allen; two grandchildren, Drew
and Rachel Botts; a special friend, June Tyson and her two daughters, Georgia
Lister and Debbie Rosen and their immediate families, of Alpharetta, GA.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. in the chapel of Pinkard Funeral Home.
The body will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. with the service following at 11 a.m.
on Saturday, January 13, at the First United Methodist Church of Russellville
with Dr. Gene Balding and Bro. Jerry Curry officiating. Interment will be in
Franklin Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Boyd was a resident of

veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Reynolds Aluminum with 28 years of
service. He was known by his grandchildren as "Great Daddy" and "Pop."

Louise M. Hunrath, age 84, of Royal Oak, MI passed away Tuesday, January
9, 2007, at the Hospice House in Cheboygan, MI.
She was born June 2, 1922, in Russellville to Dennis and Evie Lou (Hovater)
Malone. In 1955 in Angola, IN, Louise married Norm Malone, who preceded her in
death in 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother,
Willard Malone.
Louise worked as a secretary for the Oak Park Michigan Public Schools for many
years. Prior to that she had worked at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit as a
switchboard operator.
Survivors include two nephews, Dennis Malone and wife Jane, of Indian River, MI,
and Daytona Beach, FL, and James Malone and wife Kathy, of Macomb Twp., MI; her
sister-in-law, Elizabeth Malone of Indian River; two great-nieces, one
great-nephew and three great-great-nephews.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.

Margaret Ann Peloquin - Age 70 - Panama City, FL (Formerly of Russellville, AL)
Margaret "Peggy" Peloquin, age 70, passed away Friday, January 5, 2007,
in Panama City, FL, of complications from emphysema.
Peggy was born August 1, 1936, the third of five children born to Glenn Andrew
and Ruth Mildred Nelson. She graduated from Holstein High School, Holstein,
Iowa, in 1955. Shortly afterward, she enlisted in the Women's Army Corps. While
stationed in Germany, she met her future husband, Garry Wayne Peloquin. He was
from Tallassee, AL, the son of Joseph Lud and Dorlene Peloquin. Peggy and Wayne
were married on October 25, 1958, in Tallassee. In 1959, she gave birth to twin
boys, Jerry Wayne and Garry Lud. The family had homes in East Tallassee,
Tuskegee and Russellville before settling in Augusta, GA. Peggy later moved to
Chicago.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Marvin Sheldon
Nelson and Warren James Nelson. She is survived by her two sons and
daughter-in-law, Allyson Peloquin, and two grandchildren, Jacob Thomas and
Abigail Elizabeth, all of Augusta, GA; one sister, Nancy Crouch of Washta, Iowa;
one brother, Wayne Nelson of Chicago; a sister-in-law, Wyondia Ludene Hill of
Ringgold, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen Olene Stone Holloway, 78, of Vernon, Alabama died Sunday, Jan. 14,
2007, at the Care Center of Vernon after a long illness.
She was born Feb. 16, 1928, in Detroit, Ala., to the late Bathel and Annie Stark
Stone. She lived in the Pearce Chapel community of Monroe County before moving
to Vernon, Ala., in 1999. She was retired from the housekeeping department at
Gilmore Memorial Hospital. She was a Baptist. She enjoyed reading and spending
time with her family. She married John D. "Bunk" Holloway in 1948; he preceded
her in death in 2000.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the E. E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in
Smithville, MS, with Bro. Edward Puckett officiating. Burial will be in Carter
Cemetery in Detroit, AL. Visitation will continue until service time today at
the funeral home.
Survivors include 1 brother, Robert E. "Bud" Stone (Mildred) of Sulligent, Ala.;
3 sisters, Maureen Brown of Detroit, Ala., Wanda Puckett (Wayne) of Greenwood
Springs and Francis Harrison (Ralph) of Sulligent, Ala.; 1 sister-in-law, Eva

Florine Myrtle Rowland Gault, 83, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at Hermitage
Gardens in Oxford. She had lived in the Oxford area since 1950. She worked at
Marchbanks Insurance for 26 years and for United Southern Bank for five years.
She was a member of the Oxford Church of Christ and the Ladies Auxiliary.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel with Bob
Brewer and Larry Wicker officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Silas Gault of Oxford; one son, John Rowland
Gault of Oxford; one sister, Joyce Clardy of Fayette, Ala.; one grandchild; and
two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Flora Harkins Rowland; and
a daughter, Norma Jean Gault.

(Holland) Clanton. She was retired as a seamstress from Wrangler after 22 years.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

with Bro. Bobby Amos officiating. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Ronda Baggett and husband, Roger, of Hamilton,

Wallace Edgar "Wally" Bartholomew, Jr., 89 of Winfield, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the Northwest Medical center in Winfield, Alabama.
"Wally" as he was affectionately called, was born on December 29, 1917, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to the late Wallace Edgar and Besse (Koch) Bartholomew. He received his education at the University of Alabama. He was an Eagle Scout and contributed to the war effort by working with the production of powder and aided in the production of "heavy water". He was co-owner/operator of Vickery Trading Post and Mac's Cafe and was in the furniture business (Royal Furniture/Heilig-Meyers) for many years with stores in Guin, AL, Hamilton, AL and Sulligent, AL. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winfield, AL.
In addition to his Parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Lillian Vickery Bartholomew, and 1 sister, Delores Bartholomew Bookwalter.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Winfield First United Methodist Church with burial in the Winfield City Cemetery. Rev. Gary Heathcock was the officiating minister.

2007 at his residence.
Born November, 11, 1951 in Lamar County, Alabama, he was the son of Napoleon and
Jurline Metcalfe Hackman of Sulligent. He was a member of the St. James Baptist
Church. He attended Sulligent High School and was previously employed at Glenn
Manufacturing.

Mrs. Louise Rye Jackson, 89, of Troy, Alabama, ,died on January 27, 2007 at
her residence in Troy after a sudden illness.
She was born on May 17, 1917 in Monroe County, MS, to the late Henry Dudley and
Lydia Blanch Crook Rye. She grew up in the Hatley Community of Monroe County,
Mississippi where she was a graduate of Hatley Schools. She had lived in
Birmingham, Amory, and in Troy Alabama for the past 15 years. She married
Clarence J. Jackson on July 20, 1936, who predeceased her. She was a homemaker
who enjoyed flower gardening, sewing and quilting. She was a member of Southside
Baptist Church in Troy Alabama. Mrs. Jackson was a loving mother and
grandmother.
Services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at E. E. Pickle Funeral
Home Chapel in Amory with Elder Tim Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in
Hatley Cemetery in Hatley. Visitation will continue Tuesday, Jan 30th until time

Gilbert Milton Carpenter, age 81, of Birmingham, died Tuesday, January 30,
2007.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 2nd, at St.

the service in the Founder's Room at St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Horner Carpenter; 2 sons, Gilbert W.
Carpenter (Kathy), Harry Carpenter (Barbara); daughter, Carolyn Henderson;
brother, C. Earle Carpenter (Judy); grandchildren, Ashley Bazemore (Tom), Kelly

Born in Birmingham, Alabama on November 13, 1925, Mr. Carpenter graduated from
Riverside Military Academy in 1943 and entered the Navy. He attended Howard
College (Samford University) participating in the V-12 program and earning his H
Letter. He was transferred by the Navy to Tulane University. Mr. Carpenter
attended Supply Officer School in Bayonne, New Jersey and commissioned as Lt.JG.
A 1946 graduate of the University of Alabama, Mr. Carpenter was a Jester in the
Shriners and served as Chairman of Birmingham University School. He was a
charter member of The Club and Vestavia Country Club where he was on the Board
of Directors. He was a member of the Country Club of Birmingham, a charter
member and former Deacon of Shades Valley Presbyterian Church, and a member and
former Vestryman at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Mr. Carpenter was President of
both Hightower Box & Tank Company and Carpenter Oak Flooring Company. He served
as Chairman of Alabama Oak Flooring in Guin, Alabama and was the former Director
of National Oak Flooring Association and Wooden Box & Pallet Association. He was
Director and Southern Area Vice President of Young President Organization (YPO)
and Chairman of the Rebel Chapter. In 1975, Mr. Carpenter joined the Chief
Executive Organization. He served as President of Cross Creek Park Home Owners
Association for 12 years and was also a commercial and industrial Real Estate
Broker.
The family suggests memorials be sent to St. Luke's Episcopal Church or to the
UAB Cardiovascular Research Department.

Ronald Jefferson (R.J.) McDonald, , 100, of Marion, Alabama, died on Sunday
January 21, 2007.
Born on January 4, 1907, in Winfield, Alabama, he was the son of the late John
Marcus McDonald. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great
grandfather, a wonderful Christian man and great educator. After graduating from
Winfield High School, he obtained a college degree in 1931 and masters in 1940
from the University of Alabama; the first in the family to do so. He met his
wife, Margie, at the University where he was inducted to Phi Delta Kappa. They
raised four daughters and were married for over 68 years. In the summer of 1942,
"Col Mac" left the Alabama Public School System to become an instructor at
Marion Military Institute where he became Dean and later promoted to Vice
President of Academic Affairs. Col. Mac was a perfect example for us all. It was
no accident that God blessed him with such a long, happy and healthy life.
Mr. McDonald is survived by his four daughters: Margaret McDonald (Dr. William
Max) of Birmingham, Alabama; Barbara Mitchell (Mr. Frank S.) of Dallas, Texas;
Carolyn Starling ( Rev. Ralph L.) of Richmond, VA; and Frances Quick (Col. Ret.
Bunnet R.) of Columbus, GA. Mr. McDonald is also survived by one sister, Johnnie
McDonald New of Lithonia, Ga., and one brother, Joe McDonald of Winfield, Al.
Seven Grandchildren are the following: Paige McDonald of Tampa, Fl.; Donald
Slappy, Jr. (Beth) of Houston, Texas; Charlotte Mitchell of Indian Trail, N.C.;

Trimm Fuller - Age 64 - (Formerly of Fayette County)
Nancy L. Trimm Fuller, born April 9, 1942 died Tuesday, January 30, 2007. She
was the oldest daughter of John and Audra Trimm from Fayette Co. Alabama.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Marcus Don Fuller, also her three
children Forrest (Rusty) and wife Joy Fuller, of Birmingham, daughters Donna Kay
Little of Mobile and Diana Fuller Tate of Pinson. Also her cherished
grandchildren, Callie, Riley, Ansley Caroline, Audra Little and Madeline Little
and two great grandsons, Cole and Caiden Combs. She is also survived by 3
brothers and 1 sister, Harald Trimm of Heflin, Dwight Trimm of Fayette County,
Duane Trimm of Wilmington, OH, and sister Ellen Enis of Fayette County.
She worked many jobs to make sure her children all went to college and all three
attended Jacksonville State University and all are in the medical field. She
worked at Birmingham Trust National Bank(now Wachovia) was a census taker and
worked at Jim Walter Coal Mines #7 for many years. Nancy had a giving and loving
personality and everybody around her always lit up when she was in a room, or
around her. She loved her Savior, having attended Pioneer Baptist Church for
many years. One of her greatest joys was teaching in the children's church and
the kids loved her so much. She was a beauty queen, having been Miss Jefferson
County in 1959, and had a charming and beautiful personality. Funeral Service
will be Friday, February 2, 2007 at 9:30 am at Pinson United Methodist Church,
visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 5 pm until 7 pm at Jefferson
Memorial Trussville. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Rev. Bob
Posey and Rev. Ron Gonia officiating.

most of her life and a member of the Rock City Church of God.

Linnie was the son of the late Henry Judson and Ollie Bell Ables Hargett. He
served as a Deacon at many Churches of Christ and served as an Elder for over 20
years at the Hamilton Church of Christ in Hamilton, Alabama. He was on the Board
of Directors at the Maywood Christian Camp in Hamilton, co-founder of Camp
Merihah in Centerville, Tennessee, Project Director at the building site of
Guyana, South America Church of Christ, project manager of housing development
in Moscow, Russia and of the building of the Hamilton Church of Christ.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2007 from the
Hamilton Church of Christ with burial in the Corinth National Cemetery in
Corinth, Mississippi. Bro. Ted Burleson and Dale Jenkins were the officiating

Charles C. and Agnes Sparks Berryhill. He was a lifelong resident of Winfield
and Brilliant. He worked as an over-the-road trucker and locally hauled coal.

Webb Stewart. she was a lifelong resident of Glen

of the Glen Allen United Methodist Church.

Mr. Gary Michael “Mike” Chaffin, age 54 of Winfield, passed
away, Monday, January 29, 2007 as a result of a truck accident.
Mike was born on June 20, 1952 in Waukegan, IL a son of Joel Everette Chaffin
and Ruby Louise Hollingsworth Chaffin; resident of Winfield and Hubbertville
areas most of his life; 1970 Graduate of Hubbertville High School; previously
employed with Manufactured Housing Plants; currently employed with D & G
Trucking at Fayette; and he attended New Life Fellowship Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and a niece Sydney Chaffin.
Survivors include one son, Jason Johnson of Eldridge; four grandchildren;
father, Joel E. Chaffin of Winfield; two brothers, Jimmy (Karen) Chaffin and
David (Stachie) Chaffin, both of Glen Allen; nieces and nephews, Greg (Julie)
Chaffin, Kristie (Buddy) Crabtree, Savannah, Joshua, Alex and Eric Chaffin.

McNece, Elmer - Age 73 - Davis, CA
Elmer McNece, age 73 of Davis, California passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at his residence.
Mr. McNece was born April 22, 1934 in Pleasant Ridge to the late Elmer and Bertha McNece. He was an Army Veteran stationed in Germany. He earned his bachelors degree from Cal State Long Beach and masters degree from UCLA in accounting. He taught accounting at Cal State Long Beach and Cal State Sacramento.
Funeral services were held on Monday, February 5, 2007 from the First Baptist Church of Davis, California.

Melton, Leola Godsey Collier - Age 76 - Hamilton, AL
Leola Godsey Melton, age 76, of Hamilton, Alabama passed away January 29, 2007 at Marion Regional Nursing Home in Hamilton, AL.
Mrs. Melton was born February 1, 1930, in Marion County, Alabama. Leola was the daughter of the late Silas M. and Dora Ellen Palmer Godsey. Lee was a life time member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #2434, Biloxi, Mississippi. She joined under the auspices of her late husband, Luke Melton, a US Army Veteran. She served in every office on the local district and state level of the Auxiliary and was also elected state president of Mississippi for 1988 - 1989. Under her leadership, the state received several awards from the national office of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Kansas City, Missouri.
In addition to her parents, Lee was preceded in death by her son, Luther Michael Collier, two sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Barry Scott Collier in Atlanta, Georgia and Terry Keith (Cha) Collier in Lake Placid, Florida. There are six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. There are also three sisters, Gaynell (Hugh Don) Lee, Zella and Betty Godsey, all of Hamilton, Alabama and a special friend, Hilda Neal of Florence, Alabama.
There was a private memorial held in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Funeral services for Gereld Ray Cantrell, 61, of Cullman, will be at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at Berlin Cemetery at Mt. Carmel, the Rev. Rob Lambert
officiating, with interment in Berlin Cemetery at Mt. Carmel.

Mr. Cantrell passed away Jan. 13, 2007, at his residence in Cullman. He was born
Dec. 21, 1945, to Albert and Rosella Cantrell in Beaverton. He was a laborer in
farming and construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sue Hugley and Judy Hill;
and two brothers, Harold and Herman Cantrell.
Survivors include his two sons, Jody (Julie) Cantrell of Cullman and Josh
Cantrell of Cullman; daughter, Angela (Thomas) Fossett; brother, Kermit
Cantrell; six sisters, Helen (Gene) Barksdale of Vina, Hazel Riggs of Montana,
Dollie (Bob) Ames of Oklahoma, Essie Lee Smith of Hamilton, Mavis (Thomas) Holly
of Haleyville, and Geneva Baker of Georgia; five grandsons, Allen Burgess,

White, Robert L. - Age 85 - LaPalma, CA (Formerly of Brilliant, AL)
Robert L. White, age 85, of LaPalma, California, formerly of Brilliant,
Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at his residence.
Mr. White was born on September 19, 1922, in Brilliant,
Alabama. He retired in 1985 after 38 years as a switchman on the South Pacific
Railroad. He was a Veteran of World War II and served as a Marine in the fifth
division.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Leigh Bennett.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Goodwin White; 3 sons, Larry (Linda) White,
Gary (Barbara) White, and Darrell (Shari) White; 2 daughters, Linda (Graham)
